Als eerste gestart met de presentatie van Stowe Boyd, bekend van /Message 

 

Stowe gaf aan dat blogs steeds meer onderdeel worden van “the flow”. Doordat bloggers meer controle hebben over de comments dan degene die de comment toevoegde zie je een verschuiving naar andere media als Disqus en CoComment. RSS readers komen steeds minder vaak op de blog zelf, ofwel, de community wordt steeds meer gescheiden van de blog zelf. Comments op Friendfeed en andere sites, reacties op Twitter vinden vaak hun weg niet terug naar de blogs. De “flow” applicaties als Twitter en Friendfeed en de Facebook status geven de gebruiker vaak een dusdanige beleving dat ze bijna niet meer terugwillen naar hun blog. Hierna een presentatie bijgewoond van Alan Patrick over “The Limits of Freeconomics” (Zijn blogartikel: Limits to FreeConomics at Web 2.0 Expo, Berlin)

 

Na de lunch werd het tijd voor weer een aantal keynotes:

 

Martin Varsavsky in tweegesprek met Tim O’Reilly. Martin, een serial entrepeneur(FON) werd door Tim ondervraagd over zijn artikel over Sequioa. Zijn punt was dat Sequoia wel erg laat met het nieuws kwam…

 

 

Hierna was het de beurt aan Saul Klein. Saul is (serial) entrepeneur en early stage investor. Hij gaf zijn kijk op het Europese Venture Capitalist klimaat

 

Daarna was het de beurt aan Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino met haar presentatie over: “In Case of Turbulence: Open Source Hardware’s Next Challenges”. Haar blog is te vinden op: http://www.designswarm.com/blog/

  Suw Charman-Anderson hield haar presentatie over why email is failing us

 

Ben Hammersley hield een memorabel verhaal, dit verhaal lag in lijn met de keynote van Tim O’Reilly. Het leek alsof hij terugkeek op zijn leven zijn kleinkinderen de nadrukkelijke boodschap mee wilde geven iets te gaan doen wat meer betekenis heeft, iets opmerkelijks en memorabel. Vlak na de pauze hebben we een presentatie aangehoord van Gustav Martner en Gustav von Sydow over Reactive Advertising. Eerlijk, open transparant zou het moeten zijn, deze vraag werd dan ook door het publiek gesteld, net als een aantal andere kritische vragen. Ze hadden beiden erg veel moeite met de vragen, gezien de duidelijke lichaamstaal, ze hadden ook moeite om de vragen te pareren

 

 

Na deze presentatie ging Leon naar de presentatie van Scott Rafer: The Truth about Social Network Advertising — The One VCs Don’t Want to hear.  Volgens Leon was Scott een beetje gefrustreerd, na 20 minuten was de presentatie alweer afgelopen… Het Facebook platform is dood… en Microsoft is ook geen lieverdje.

Vanaf maandag start de Microsoft PDC, de Professional Developers Conference

Steven Sinofsky zal een demonstratie geven van Windows 7, iedere aanwezige krijgt in ieder geval een pre-beta uitgereikt van Windows 7, ook zal Ray Ozzie het Windows Live Framework, het Windows Live Mesh development platform presenteren.

Bob Muglia zal naar verwachting het cloud development platform presenteren en zal uitleg geven hoe Microsoft de competitie zal aangaan met Amazon en Google middels een combinatie van het Windows Cloud OS, virtualisatie en diverse andere cloud services.

Daarnaast zijn er sessies over Silverlight 2 for Mobile, Microsoft Oslo modeling Strategy and Platform en parallel /concurrent computing.

Net als Erno Hannink, Arne Hulstein en Marc van Maanen vertrekken Leon en ik komende week naar Berlijn voor de Web 2.0 Expo. 3 dagen lang laten we ons onderdompelen in allerlei sessies over Web 2.0.  Kijk Voor een overzicht van de key note sprekers op keynote speakers, en voor de sprekers op speakers. De complete agenda vindt je hier. Helaas vertrekken we maandag wat later op maandag waardoor we naar verwachting pas laat op de maandagavond in Berlijn zijn

In eerste instantie bleek dat we gratis kaarten zouden kunnen verkrijgen door een aantal artikelen over de expo te bloggen en een banner op de blog te plaatsen. Helaas bleek dat de organisatie had besloten dat er al voldoende bloggers waren. Dankzij Erno zijn code hebben toch de 30% korting nog kunnen verkrijgen. Daarnaast wordt deze trip wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt door Herman Kalse en Basooka Kroes. Heren, dank hiervoor

Erno en Arne houden overigens onderweg in een aan hun ter beschikking gestelde Ford een aantal Pitch Stops, op de achterbank in de auto krijgen start-ups 5 min. de tijd zichzelf voor te stellen en te presenteren.
